Hello everybody – We are excited to announce the arrival of Ayya Medhanandi, coming from Ottawa to speak and lead in meditation practice this November, in Vancouver.

She currently leads meditation programmes for The May Court Hospice and local groups in Ottawa. She is training a former Vancouver physiotherapist, Anagarika Cathy to be a nun at Sati Saraniya Hermitage, also based in Ottawa. She began meditating at the age of 21, an interest which brought her to study Buddhism and finally to Burma where she ordained over 20 years ago under Sayadaw U Pandita, an internationally recognized Buddhist meditation master. Last year she took bhikkhuni ordination and bodhisattva vows in Taiwan.

We look forward to her presence here in Vancouver and hope all of you will be able to join in the very rare opportunity to learn from a fully ordained Theravada Buddhist nun.
