Lisa is looking for someone to lead the AiA meeting in November. She is sending “this invitation out to those of you that have not had a lot or any experience leading a group in the past. Awake in Action is a wonderful container to safely step into the unknown; to speak and discuss a topic you are passionate about amongst a comfortable size group.”

[from Lisa]

Hello Everyone.

As I will be on holidays for the month of November I am looking for someone to lead the AiA meeting in November (and perhaps December as well).

I particularly put this invitation out to those of you that have not had a lot or any experience leading a group in the past. Awake in Action is a wonderful container to safely step into the unknown; to speak and discuss a topic you are passionate about amongst a comfortable size group. If you are new to AiA or have not attended AiA meeting regularly please do not let that stop you from volunteering to lead the meeting if you are interested in doing so.

The topic of the Nov. meeting is open – anything that relates to how we engage or practice the path of dharma in our lives – dharma & parenting, dharma & the environment, dharma & relationships, dharma & work, etc. etc. (I know there are many of you on this list that are from different traditions of Buddhism and from other faiths as well ~ this is an inclusive and open invitation to all so please when you read dharma above please substitute with meditation or contemplative practice if that is your preference).

The person(s) who volunteers to lead the meeting(s) will work with one of the senior members of the Shambhala Centre who can mentor you through any questions on preparing a talk and discussion that you may encounter as well as help outline the meeting’s timetable. Working with a mentor is an invaluable way of learning and is lovely because, as we become more experienced, we can then mentor others and so on – it is a very caring and generous system of giving and receiving.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email or call me. I do hope anyone with the least bit of interest will consider this invitation and take me up on it!

Thank you for your consideration (& courage!)
