Angry Monk: following 7pm screening on Nov 20

After the 7:00pm screening of Angry Monk on November 20, Jeffrey Hopkins – Emeritus Professor of Tibetan Studies at the University of Virginia – will discuss aspects of Gendun Choephel’s life, especially those associated with his books on emptiness and on sex.

Jeffrey Hopkins has written or translated thirty-nine books on Tibetan Buddhism including Emptiness in the Mind-Only School (1999) and Cultivating Compassion (2001). He translated and edited His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s How to Practice (2002), having served from 1979 to 1989 as His Holiness’s chief interpreter into English.
